PHARMACY may call the provider to discuss a substitution or send notification by fax that the prescribed drug requires prior authorization. The pharmacist will not provide a substitution without the physician's approval. Similar information can be obtained by calculating the cross-correlation between RNm discharge rate and kinematic signals, which avoids the subjective nature of hand measurement. Figure 2C shows the cross-correlation for the entire 100-s length of the data file, between discharge rate and negative half-wave rectified velocity. This was the direction associated with the largest discharge rates. The correlation was negative because increases in firing rate were associated with movement in the negative flexion ; direction.
